Clear out everything in the bathroom—toiletries, towels, rugs, anything in cabinets or drawers. We’ll protect the rest of your house with plastic sheeting and floor coverings, but the bathroom itself needs to be empty before demo day. If you have pets, plan for them to be in a different part of the house or outside while we’re working.
Set up a temporary bathroom situation if this is your only one. That might mean using a bathroom at another location during the day or setting up a basic setup elsewhere in the house if possible. We work as fast as we can, but you won’t have a functioning bathroom for at least a few days during demo and rough-in.
Expect noise and dust, especially in the first few days. We contain it as much as possible, but demolition is loud and messy. If you work from home, plan around it. We’ll also need access to water and power, and we’ll need space to stage materials. A driveway or garage works. We clean up daily, but construction isn’t tidy until it’s finished.
